Shay's Foundation is first in Caribbean

Starting work today

Starting its work today in Trinidad is the the Caribbean region's first Conductive Education initiative, a three week 'camp' set up by a specially constituted charity, Shay's Foundation for Cerebral Palsy.

The Foundation has been established by Anne Marie McIntosh, in memory of her son, Darius Shay McIntosh, 4 September 1992 – 7 January 2008

The three-week camp will comprise two groups, each of five children:
  • children aged four to six, running from 9 a.m. to 12.30, including lunch
  • an older group, for children aged seven and older, running from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The two conductors come from Moira and will work with four locally recruited aides.

Further details promised at the end of the three weeks.
