Great news for addicts

No cost, no rushing round at Congress

In response to a query about availability of wireless networking at the forthcoming Wprld Congress, Mr C. F. Fong replies, on the Pre-Congress Social Networking Platform –

Yes, in some areas/rooms but not the entire venue. There will be an internet corner with notebooks for internet access too.

Thank you for this civilised solution.

This particular addict is now therefore spared not just the anguish of hideous costs for Internet access at the hotel but also rushing round those enormous Hong Kong shopping malls looking for vacant free access points.

And of course, I shall still have the opportunity of rushing round like a dement in the evenings, when the venue is closed!

  1. There could perhaps be the option of buying a pay-as-you-go dongle in Hong Kong. I did this on my last visit to England and it was very good value at 15 pounds for 90 gigabytes. I could use it just about everywhere and as there are only three internet cafes in the whole of Norwich it made my holiday much more relaxing! No rushing around! There were still about 50BG left after many hours use just for blogging and emailing.

I am not an expert, but perhaps there is one out there who can tell us if this is an option worth looking into for Hong Kong.
