WELCOME THEORETICAL PUBLICATION

No relevant academic article should ignore it

An article on an important theoretical and philosophical question for Conductive Education, of particular interest to those concerned to compare CE and the 'two Vygotskiis' (the original in his homeland and/or the 'bourgeois Vygotskii' favoured by so many Western academics):

It was written by Luciane Maria Schlindwein and Gracia Maria do Nascimento Correa, and in English translation is called 'Conductive Education and historical-cultural perspective: some approaches'. It comes from Santa Catarina in Brazil, and is published in Portuguese.

I would expect that any future article that mentions a possible Vygotskii-CE relationship would need to account this article critically before submission to a proper academic publication

Here is its English-language Summary, as provided:
SUMMARY: This article presents the theoretical and methodological foundations of Conductive Education (developed in Hungary by András Peto), aiming to promote a discussion with the theoretical framework of Cultural-Historical Psychology (whose greatest representative is Lev Seminovich Vygotski). This is a theoretical study, based on the study and analysis of the theoretical and methodological principles developed by the two authors around the possibilities of understanding and intervention in people with cerebral palsy. We consider that at least four points of convergence between the two theoretical and methodological perspectives: a) a decisive influence of historical and dialectical materialism in the foundation of the principles of both theoretical and methodological discussions, b) understanding of full development of the person c) the basic idea that development is driven by learning, and d) the importance of language and social exchanges (which Peto will be called context) in the constitution of the person. Without pretending to exhaust the discussions, this text presents itself more as a kind of theoretical and methodological provocation whose goal is to engage educators in the studies and actions that can ensure development conditions for people with cerebral palsy.

I do like the idea of 'a kind of theoretical and methodological provocation whose goal is to engage educators in the studies and actions that can ensure development conditions for people with cerebral palsy'...
