PAF: FURTHER DIPLOMATIC INVOLVEMENT

Contract signed in Zamość, Eastern Poland

A further cooperation deal was signed yesterday, this one with Krok za Krokiem in Zamość in Eastern Poland, with full official and diplomatic involvement, briefly announced this morning on PAF's Facebook page:

Nice picture, but the news has drawn little attention in the Hungarian media:

Local newspapers in Eastern Poland have granted just a little more interest:

Orsolya Zsuzsanna Kovács, the Hungarian Ambassador to Poland, and the mayor of Zamość were there. The formal signing ceremony was followed by another, civic one. During the 1956 Hungarian Uprising citizens of Zamość had shown public solidarity with the people of Hungary by arranging blood transfusions. A plaque commemorating this was unveiled, and flowers laid by disabled Polish children, by Krok za Krokiem, and by PAF.

The agreed collaboration of the Zamość center with the PAF in Budapest will include training for Polish specialists, exchange of volunteers and children's camps.

Krok za Krokiem ('Step by Step') is a charitable organisation founded 25 years ago and still directed by Maria Król, parent and physician.

The governments of Poland and Hungary are currently close political allies.
